The Lions Club of Park Orchards, as part of our annual Christmas Cake Drive has introduced a fantastic new initiative called “DONATE A CAKE”.
You now have the option to purchase a ‘Donation Certificate’ here and send a 1kg Lions Christmas Cake or Pudding to Foodbank Victoria.
This is a wonderful way for the less fortunate to receive a little something extra during what can be a vulnerable time of year for many people.

In the last year, more than one in five Australians (21%) have been in a situation where they have run out of food and been unable to buy more.
At least once a week, around half of food insecure people skip a meal (55%) or cut down on the size of their meals to make their food go further (50%). At least once a week, three in ten food insecure Australians (30%) go a whole day without eating.
Foodbank Victoria are the pantry to the charity sector. They fight hunger by providing food for 815,000 Australians each month and advocate for the almost 1 in 5 Australians who experience food insecurity each year
Foodbank Victoria is a not-for-profit, non-denominational organisation operating in every state and territory in Australia. Foodbank Victoria is the only Australian food relief organisation that is a certified member of The Global Foodbanking Network (GFN).
Foodbank Victoria is the largest food relief charity in Australia, sourcing and rescuing more than 40 million kilograms of food annually for its networks of 2,400 charity partners and 2,000 schools.
The food they distribute is used in vital food relief programs such as community pantries and dining halls, mobile soup vans, emergency hampers and breakfast or lunch programs in schools.
